A new report by the Solar Energy Industries Association highlights corporate use of solar energy and shows that the U.S. has reached more than 8,000 MW of installed commercial solar capacity across 38,000 projects. PowerFlex has partnered with the tech and retail giants such as Amazon, Target, Prologis, and Facebook, who are among the top 10 corporate users of solar energy, installing systems directly on their facilities or buying power from off-site projects.
Target remains the top company for onsite solar capacity at its facilities, with 256 MW installed onsite at its facilities. Target now has more than 500 solar projects in its portfolio, which is the most solar projects of any corporation. PowerFlex was proud to have partnered with them to develop multiple projects, including their 500th solar rooftop installation at their store location in Napa, CA. We celebrated the notable achievement with the mayor and onsite team. The SEIA report finds 1,319 megawatts (MW) of new commercial solar capacity was installed in the U.S. in 2019, representing the second-largest year on record. Commercial solar continues to grow, and we are extremely proud of our clients who are leading the way to a renewable energy future.
